High School Matinees and Outreach Programs

Our mission is to provide access to your students at a low cost, therefore tickets are only $5.00 for these special high school performances. All shows begin at 10:30am, and will be followed by a talkback with the cast and crew. In addition to our show/talkback, we can provide (per request at time of booking):
*LUNCH: During Intermission (For a nominal charge, we will arrange for pizza and soda for your students.)

*TEACHING MATERIALS (In addition to the show itself, I will personally make a, “show packet” for you to share with your students. (If requested- Please state your desire for supplemental materials at the time of contract arrangement) The packet will contain a description of the show, study questions, interesting facts and dramaturgical info. That you can use in facilitating discussions and classroom activities before or after seeing the show.)

The representative will gather all needed information and discuss the details of your pre-attendance needs. When you call, please be prepared to “book” with a headcount (or close approximation) and have your date selected. Please book early. Reservations are on a first come, first served basis.

DVC Drama Marketing/Publicity Interns

Working alongside the DVC Drama Marketing Director, our students in pursuit of their Technical Theatre A.A., gain valuable experience in developing marketing and audience development strategies. DVC Drama marketing interns’ assist in the planning and execution of ticket sales initiatives, lobby display creations, dramaturgical research works, marketing surveys, publicity distribution and community outreach endeavors. DVC students pursuing their Technical Theatre A.A. are given priority in the selection process.

If you are interested in a DVC Drama Marketing Internship, please contact Nicole Hess Diestler at (925) 685-1230 ext. 2337. Students seeking this internship need to have basic computer/office skills, a highly developed work ethic and have a basic understanding of the aspects of theatre production. This internship requires a commitment of at least ten hours per week, for sixteen weeks and enrollment in Co-Op 170 /170A.
